On the FFA side of things, Three Forks FFA has been very busy the past couple of months as well.
FFA Members have competed in several events all across the state! First, students competed in Vet Science, Floriculture, Meats, and Livestock at the Sweet Grass Showdown in Big Timber. Then, a very early morning trip to Great Falls to compete at KMON in Meats and Livestock.
Finally, Three Forks FFA traveled to Townsend last Friday to attend their FFA District Speaking Contests. Congratulations to Hadley F., Lucas K., Savannah E., Corban L., and Rylee S. who made up the Agriculture Sales and Service Team. The team took 5th Place, and has qualified for state! Congratulations to Hadley Fallang who took 8th place as an individual! Three Forks was represented well by Grace Kluin who competed in extemporaneous speaking, and Jamie Vallindras who competed in Sr. Creed. A huge congratulations to Sophia Emens, who took first place in the Jr. Creed competition! Sophia will represent Three Forks and the South Western FFA District at the Montana FFA State Convention in Billings this spring. Three Forks FFA has now qualified 5 teams for state convention (Horse, Meat, Forestry, Floriculture, and Sales). Congratulations Three Forks FFA!
Three Forks FFA has also had the privilege of being visited by two Montana State FFA officers for a workshop about leadership. Three Forks FFA also had the opportunity to serve food for the KG Ranch Bull Sale. Finally, Calla Donnelly (chapter Secretary), had the privilege of attending FUSION in Helena. Fusion is a leadership summit that brings together students with industry experts, allowing them to explore career opportunities. Calla is using this experience to run for a Montana State FFA Officer position this spring.
Great job Three Forks FFA!

The 8th Grade Physical Science class is back at the drawing board and creating a simple machine project. The students must design and draw a machine that will water a plant. Record how many steps/machines their machine has. Describe how each step functions. Using key terms such as fulcrum, inclined plane, lever, pulley, screw, simple machine, wedge, wheel and axle. The projects are a culmination of the class curriculum for semester 1.

A little behind in posting, but the Three Forks Agriculture Program has been very busy the past couple of months. Students have been spending time learning about plumbing and using their knowledge to make roping dummies out of PVC pipe. Students in the Agriculture mechanics course also learned about the concepts of concrete and poured small slabs.
Our awesome school counselor, Andy Hessen, took some time to come in and teach the Wildlife and Recreation class about fly tying. Thank you, Mr. Hessen!
The Principles of Agriculture class learned about wool production, veterinary science tools, and tractor safety and operation. This class got the opportunity to drive and operate a tractor! Students had to complete a driving course and operate the tractor safely to receive a tractor safety and operation certificate.
We would like to thank Chuteside Veterinary Clinic for donating some actual vet tools for students to identify and work with. We would also like to thank the Gallatin Conservation District for coming and talking to our students about the organization and wool production. Finally, we would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Torgersons of Belgrade and Matt Marx for generously donating a tractor for the students to learn on.
Fun times in the Agriculture Department!!!

Good afternoon,
Three Forks FFA wanted to send out a quick warning to the community that someone by the name of Joseph has been calling local businesses regarding a promotion they are doing with Three Forks FFA. The group goes by All American Publishing. They had contacted us about doing this promotion, but we have not formally agreed/decided to do it. Yet, they appear to be calling and gathering information from businesses despite us not giving them any information previously. Please do not give them any information, despite they may say that we have confirmed this promotion.
Thank you!

Congratulations to all the nominated students of the 2nd quarter. High School student nominations: Lucas Killion, Kortney Merritt, Paige Lien, Karin Williams, Sophie Meskimen, Grace Kluin, Jacoby Berg, Kade Gottlob.
