Three Forks FFA had a very busy, but awesome day today! This morning, several members traveled around the Gallatin Valley to do sponsorship visits. Not only did we receive generous support from so many great businesses, but our members got the opportunity to network and even discuss career opportunities with future employers. We thank the many businesses that allowed us to come and visit them today! This includes: AgWest Farm Credit, AguaTech, BBG, Churchhill Equipment, Chuteside, Circle S Seed, Farm Bureau Insurance, Frontline Ag. Solution, Headwaters Vet Clinic, KG Ranch, MCM Trucking, Montana Equine, Monterior Design, RDO Equipment, Rocky Mountain Supply, Ron's Diseal, Steer In Trailer Sales, Stockman Bank, Three Forks Chiropractor, Three Forks Physical Therapy, Three Forks Ready Mix, Torgerson's, Townsend Tire, and Wheat Montana. Our FFA members will be out visiting a few more businesses this week. We also had our Welcome Back BBQ tonight which was a big success! FYI the high school football game tomorrow night is a home game but MSU is hosting us. We hire announcers, ticket-takers, chain gang etc, so activity passes, sponsor passes and teachers get in free. Also, to clarify there won't be a concession stand but you can bring your own snacks and drinks into the game.

Attention TFS Parents: Due to overcrowding on one of our school bus routes, we have made changes accordingly to address this. Most Student riders and parents will not be affected by this, other than slightly different pick up/drop off times. The new schedules are posted on the top of the school website. Paper copies will be sent home with all student riders. We will be making these changes this afternoon Wednesday, August 28. We ask for everyone’s patience as we are trying to offer safe and efficient transportation for your children that ride school buses. We ask that you please be at your students bus stop 10 minutes early today to ensure your child’s pick up. Thank you for your patience and understanding! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EiKjc6egRu3sMei74XNH2mkZk2TBy2xc/view?usp=sharing

Good morning Three Forks!! We are off and running at Three Forks Elementary School and things are going great!! Since we are now a few days into the school year we are encouraging parents to follow our morning routines and procedures. -Students are not to arrive at the school until 7:40 for breakfast. -If parents do enter the building they are REQUIRED to stop in at the elementary office and sign in. -Parents should refrain from walking their child to their classroom. If you need assistance with this please ask staff to help. Thank you for the great start to the school year!!

Students finished the assembly of the frames for the raised garden beds. Wagner Nurseries has offered to donate soil and Three Forks Lumber and Ready Mix donated the plastic fabric to go under the beds to help prevent grass and weeds from growing up through the soil.

Attention Middle School Volleyball parents & players. Ennis had to move a football game to September 5th next Thursday so they don't have enough drivers to send their junior high volleyball team our way so we are switching our home and away games with them. I changed it on the schedule that I have already shared with you. The change is as follows, September 5th is now @ Ennis & October 7th is now @ home

Three Forks CTE Department Continues to Earn Grant Monies with MCA Construction Trade Awareness Award Three Forks, MT – The Three Forks Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department continues to earn grant monies, awards and donations to develop the courtyard areas into outdoor learning spaces. Three Forks Schools has been selected to receive a $1500 Montana Contractors Association (MCA) Construction Trade Awareness Award. Fifteen middle and high schools across Montana were awarded the 2024-2025 MCA classroom awards to districts aimed at promoting construction education. The MCA also offers scholarships to students pursuing post-secondary education for careers aimed at construction. With recent Three Forks campus reconstruction providing a courtyard adjacent to the family and consumer sciences and industrial arts classrooms, the CTE Department’s plan includes not only the establishment of an extended classroom and outdoor cooking area but also the incorporation of a greenhouse/garden for cultivating produce to be used within the culinary program and greater community (donations of excess produce to the local Headwaters Area Food Bank). This dynamic space will not only empower students to refine their culinary skills but also engage in sustainable practices by growing and utilizing their own produce. Through experiential learning, students will develop essential life skills such as teamwork, communication, safety awareness, budgeting, resource management, and creativity. The actual construction of the outdoor cooking and greenhouse space will be invaluable for training, practice, and expanding the scope of culinary education, construction and agriculture programs throughout the spring and fall seasons. The integration of multiple disciplines, including culinary arts, construction, agriculture, and environmental sustainability, enriches the CTE program's appeal. This interdisciplinary approach creates a comprehensive and interconnected curriculum, accommodating students with varied interests and aligning with diverse career goals while ensuring students acquire a spectrum of transferable skills. These include teamwork, communication, safety awareness, budgeting, and resource management. This holistic skill development enriches their education and prepares them for success in various career paths. Teachers Ian Schilf, Tyler Noyes, Cathe Felz and Jessica Oehmcke are members of the Three Forks CTE Department developing some of the outdoor learning spaces. The program seeks support for the transformation of the courtyard into a vibrant, usable and efficient outdoor classroom and garden space, fostering experiential learning, sustainability practices, and equipping students with the practical skills necessary for success. Included in the construction of this space are experiential learning lessons for framing the cooking area in, providing plumbing for both hydrating and cleaning the vegetables and building raised garden beds. Three Forks has two local businesses that are members of the Montana Contractors Association. Both BBG Contractors and GCC Trident have been contacted in bringing industry professionals into hands-on classrooms, asking for teams to present, teach and.or potentially work alongside students as the project is brought to fruition. In addition to the 2024-2025 MCA Construction Trade Awareness Award, funding for the outdoor learning spaces has been supported via the recently announced Montana Farmers Union Grant, the Three Forks Education Foundation, a Rural Reserve Grant and Carl Perkins funding. Beyond that, local business owner, Chris Lien of Three Forks Lumber and Ready Mix, has also donated materials. Individuals wishing to learn more or to participate in the development of the spaces can reach out to Cathe Felz at cfelz@threeforks.k12.mt.us or Jessica Oehmcke at joehmcke@threeforks.k12.mt.us. Three Forks CTE is excited for community involvement, input and contributions. Additionally, the department regularly has live projects posted to DonorsChoose.org to further fund materials needed for development of the spaces.
