Traffic Safety Week in the middle and high school! Did you know that speed plays a role in 26% of traffic fatalities? And that males are over twice as likely to be killed in traffic accidents as females? SLOW YOUR ROLL! KEEP CONTROL! We are celebrating Traffic Safety Week with CONE WEEK! There are over 300 tiny traffic cones hidden around the school every day this week. Students need to find them and earn prizes, including the grand prize of $100 cash! Traffic Safety Week is brought to you by TFHS FCCLA, Three Forks Student Council, MDT, MT FCCLA, and Ford Driving Skills for Life.

Three Forks FCCLA was the recipient of a $500 grant from Montana FCCLA, Montana Financial Education Coalition, First Interstate BancSystem Foundation, Montana Council for Economic Education, and Reach Higher Montana. The grant, called “Count Me In”, is to promote financial wellness by awarding grants to FCCLA chapters who plan and carry out projects that help them and their peers become financially fit. FCCLA member Carey Hansen, a junior at TFHS, prepared and presented a lesson to all three 5th grade classes. The students learned what it means to be financially literate and financially fit. The 5th graders already use a "money" system in their classrooms to track appropriate learning behaviors. It allows them to earn, save, spend, and invest "money" (points). The grant also provided a way for the students to charitably give extra "money" to the Elementary Playground Fund, where it will be converted to real money to help buy equipment for the playground. After the lesson, each student received a piggy bank and took part in a coloring contest.

Good morning TF parents! The construction team has an early morning concrete pour taking place in front of the cafeteria. The hope is for the equipment to leave prior to arrival time, however at this time we are encouraging traffic to avoid East Neal as it may be reduced to one lane traffic. Again, please make different arrangements and avoid using East Neal until equipment has been moved. Thank you!! Please share.

Good morning TF parents!! -We have an important safety announcement that ALL parents and guardians need to read, share, and abide by. This morning we had a child nearly get hit by a vehicle. This happened because we have countless kids that are dropped off in the middle of the street and then have to maneuver through traffic. This needs to stop. Please plan accordingly and find a place to pull over. Encourage your child to then walk around and use the monitored crosswalks. The area around the school campus is very busy in the mornings and we need to take extra precautions to ensure that kids arrive safely to school. Thank you for listening and for making the safety of children a priority!

It's time for the Little Wolves Basketball Jamboree!! The Jamboree will take place this Sunday, February 20th. Both divisions (3rd and 4th, 5th and 6th) will meet in the high school gym for general announcements at 2:00 p.m. The 3rd and 4th grade division games will all take place in the middle school gym, and the 5th and 6th grade division games will take place in the high school gym. Games will begin at 2:15 p.m., with championship games scheduled to take place at 4:35 p.m. A bracket will be available outside of both gyms. To assist with funding the program there will be an admission fee for the Jamboree, $3.00 per person, or $10.00 per family (cash only please). This small fee assists with making this program free for all participants. Again we encourage great sportsmanship from both players and spectators. Spectators that show inappropriate behavior will be asked to leave. Thank you for a great season and we will see you this Sunday!!
