Farm To Table Culinary students prepared three boxes of corn to freeze using our chamber packer. we will be making corn bread, corn chowder, and corny jokes this quarter.

The Three Forks City office let us know that they will be working on streets on Monday with the following detour information:

The High School parking lot on Neal & 2nd Avenue E will be accessible from that same intersection, but NOT accessible from the alley on Ash.
Detour the rest of traffic as follows please:
Elementary School traffic should come from Main Street to E Elm Street, then down to 5th Avenue E (or further to 6th or 7th) to Oak Street. Upon leaving they will need to take a left on Neal and go back to 5th at a minimum.
Staff and other parking – use the parking lot by the old “3-acre field”

E Ash Street on the east side of 2nd Avenue E to the 4th Avenue E intersection.

interesting Farm to Table Day! we harvested zucchini from the GarDEN to make Triple Chocolate Zucchini Ccokies. generous donation of corn from KG Ranch, picked and delivered by the Oehmcke Family. We will process and freeze tomorrow. Kids think we should make corn bread..adding that to the labs for next week when we make vegetable soup!

Three Forks School District is offering bus driver training in an effort to encourage additional drivers for our students. The class will meet for the first session tomorrow evening (Wednesday, Sept 10) at 5 pm in the TFS Board Conference Room. The district is offering a signing bonus to all new drivers including reimbursement of licensing costs for individuals willing to drive routes and / or activities. Subject: Varsity Football Game Rescheduled

I received an email from Whitehall’s AD, and we need to move our varsity football game that was previously scheduled for Friday, September 12th, to Thursday, September 11th, @ 7:00 pm.

The change is due to a shortage of officials in the area. Whitehall reached out to the Helena, Butte, and Bozeman pools, but none were available to cover on Friday.

Tree to Table lab in culinary arts I today. students practiced their knife skills, slicing locally grown apples donated by John McDonnell. We used our chamber packer to vacuum pack 40 2 pound packages of apples for apple pie.

School GarDEN update. harvest this week was a few tomatoes, three zucchini, the last of the beans, and some basil.

Thank you to Living Sky Farms for donating 50 pounds of flour. We will be using it to make the crust for apple pie in Culinary Arts I as part of our Farm to Table lab...locally grown apples and locally grain grain. we will also be making zucchini bread with zucchini from our own school GarDen.

Jr. High Football Game Change – Boulder

I ran into a bit of a surprise with junior high football. I got an email from Arbiter saying our game @ Boulder, originally scheduled for Monday evening, was moved to Wednesday evening. I was never directly informed about the change, so I’m glad a few people caught it in their emails.

Turns out Boulder can’t host Monday because they’re finishing up their new track, and it needs two days without foot traffic.

The only complication is that Wednesday is church night, and we try not to schedule games then. That said, with both teams having full schedules, we’d likely have to cancel the game if we don’t play Wednesday. If this conflicts with youth group for you student they will NOT be punished for missing their game.

So the game is now scheduled for Wednesday, September 10th @ 7:00 pm.

The TFS District held an informational meeting last evening regarding training for CDL certification & passenger endorsement - driving a route and / or activity bus. If you are interested in driving for TFS, training classes are scheduled to take place on the following dates: Wednesday, Sept 10, Monday, Sept 15, and Wednesday, Sept 17th. It's not too late to join our classes! Interested individuals can fill out an employment application on the district web site employment tab: https://www.applitrack.com/tfschools/onlineapp/
The district is offering the classes through our Adult Education program at no charge to participants. The district is also offering a signing bonus and licensing cost reimbursement for individuals committed to working for TFS.
