All high school students are invited to participate in the Homecoming Cornhole Tournament! Cash prizes! (Because who doesn't like cash??)

Montana taxpayers can decide to pay their state taxes directly to the school district of their choice rather than sending them to the state. The program allows residents to make a cash donation to their local public schools and individuals or companies can contribute up to $200,000 per year for educational programs. Married taxpayers filing jointly may take a tax credit of up to $400,000 for each tax credit, according to the Montana Department of Revenue. The state sets an annual cap on the amount statewide that can be donated. The portal for these donations will reopen on Oct 2nd and is anticipated to close quickly as the limits are met. Please contact the Three Forks Business Office for further information @ 406-285-3224, Ext 125

A second / additional opportunity for tax credit via school donations is opening up. These donations become a dollar for dollar tax credit for donors.
This is a message from the Montana Department of Revenue regarding available tax credits: Beginning on October 2, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., a limited number of Public School District (PSD) tax credits for tax year 2024 will become available on the Education Donations2 Portal. These tax credits are available because some previously approved credits became invalid. A credit reservation can become invalid if a donation amount was recorded incorrectly, or a PSD returned a donation to a donor. These invalid credit amounts will be “put back” in the pool of available credits as of October 2, 2024.
As of September 3, 2024, there is $227,001 in PSD tax credits available for reservation. Visit the Education Donations2 Portal at https://svc.mt.gov/dor/educationdonation2/ for up-to-date information on the availability of tax credits. If you have any questions, please contact Dona Losett, DOR Unit Manager, at 406-444-1991, Montana Department of Revenue, Dona.Losett@mt.gov
