The first three weeks of school have been very busy for the Three Forks Agriculture Department!
They've jumped into wiring circuits in Agricultural Mechanics and learned the basics of parliamentary procedure in Principles of Agriculture. Those skills were then used in a series of mock meetings to get a lot of business accomplished, including making a trail mix.
Wildlife and Recreation has been spending a lot of time outside, taking the time to learn how to identify different range grasses and forbs, as well as exploring and analyzing animal habitat.
Animal Science has been learning about livestock judging and will be putting their skills to the test very soon!

The 65th Annual United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP) Scholarship application period is now open to Montana Juniors and Seniors who meet the full USSYP qualifications!
Two students from Montana will be selected to receive one $12,500 scholarship each, along with a trip to Washington, D.C., March 6-13, 2027. Attending the entire Washington Week public service and leadership program and the college scholarship are one, inseparable award!
Applicants must be:
High School Juniors or Seniors
Elected or appointed officers representing a constituency in student government, other school-based organizations, or community service organizations for the entirety of the 2026-2027 academic year.
Reside in the state where they attend school to qualify.
The Montana application is available now on the Office of Public Instruction (OPI) US Senate Youth Program Scholarship webpage, and complete application packets must be submitted electronically by 11:59 pm, October 5, 2026.

Unfortunately, the JV football scrimmage scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, August 28, has been canceled. Florence let Coach Sullivan know that they do not have enough eligible players.

This flagship program is a seven month leadership experience for girls from across Montana entering their junior year of high school in 2026. This program includes three weekend retreats, two virtual trainings, and biweekly mentorship connections. The retreats take place West of Wilsall, MT, the facility includes onsite bunk style lodging and meals.
2026/2027 Program Dates:
Fall Retreat: Friday, October 23 – Sunday, October 25, 2026

The Three Forks Education Foundation (TFEF) invites all to their BINGO Night, coming October 3 at the Manhattan American Legion at 5:00pm. Advance tickets can be purchased now for $30 or at the door for $35. Pricing includes 10 BINGO cards and a walking taco bar. Attendees will find games, a silent auction, 50/50 and more, all in an effort to raise funds to support graduating seniors and the educators in our district. Livingston had to cancel our junior high football game at home on September 8th. We will still be going to their jamboree that they are hosting @ Livingston on September 5th.
Three Forks After School Program starts today! If your child is signed up and you finished the registration form, they are good to attend. Please communicate with their classroom teacher or via Mrs. Mack in the office if they are supposed to attend the after school program. The program runs from 3:45 PM, starting with a snack in the cafeteria, and ends at 5PM. Pick up is at the elementary doors for all ages and all groups.

Applicants to the Chick-fil-A Community Scholars Program must:
-Be 18 years of age by July 15, 2027.
-Currently reside in the United States (U.S.), Puerto Rico, or Canada at time of application and award
-Be a current High school senior/student in their final year of upper or higher secondary school
AND
-Planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate or graduate study for the 2027-2028 academic year at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university, or vocational-technical school or CEGEP institution
-Be involved in community service, extracurricular activities and/or a leadership role in the twelve (12) months prior to application deadline (for example, volunteering for non-profits, helping others less fortunate, tutoring/mentoring, etc.)
-Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent)
-Be willing to participate in the Chick-fil-A Scholars Program (a one-year engagement that includes mentoring and leadership development alongside their $25k Remarkable Futures Scholars), if selected.

Middle School Drama Club will be starting next week! Auditions will be September 1st & 2nd from 6:30-7:30. Rehearsal schedule will be handed out after casting to accommodate sports practices and games.

We have to change our home varsity football game vs. Whitehall on September 11th due to the Bozeman pool of officials not being able to cover all of the games in the Gallatin Valley.
