Three Forks FFA is staying very busy as we get ready for the Montana FFA State Convention! With 10 qualified teams, we are taking every opportunity to expand our knowledge and hone our skills for our Career and Leadership Development Events. This includes going to contests, and some late practices!
This weekend, Three Forks FFA attended the Broadwater County Ag. Appreciation Dinner, where we networked with local farmers, ranchers, and conservation leaders. We also supported the Broadwater FFA Chapter by partaking in their silent auction.
Following that, Three Forks FFA loaded up and drove down to Sheridan, Wyoming to partake in the Montana/Wyoming FFA Border Wars. We competed in Vet Science, FBM, and Sales. In addition to networking with other FFA chapters, our members got to tour Sheridan College and talk to college recruiters. It was a super fun trip and did a lot to prepare our teams for their upcoming contests. Results will be announced today at 4:00. Go Three Forks FFA!

Labs are always super fun in the Three Forks agriculture classroom! This week, we did plant propagation labs with succulents and cactuses, made pickles, made model greenhouses, and started learning how to suture!
We also had a visit from EncoreElectric, who did a great job presenting opportunities that exist for our students in the world of trades! Thank you EncoreElectric!

Yesterday the middle and high school sent the basketball teams off to tournament season and recognized our wrestlers and speech and drama team with a pep assembly. The cheerleaders performed their halftime dance (world premier!) followed by some advice from the wrestlers and the speech and drama team for tournament success. The girls basketball team beat the wrestlers in a half-court shot contest 6-4. And the boys basketball team out-dunked the cheerleading team, though just barely. The final event was the tug-of-war, which is much more fun when the rope doesn't break. Congratulations to the senior class on their win! However, the freshman are a force to be reckoned with and have a bright tug-of-war future. Good luck to the basketball teams! Go Wolves!

THANK YOU to our celebrity judges who too time out of their day to judge the dunk contest! The Grinch (Matt Bugland), Deputy Deville (Deputy Dan Mayland), and Lady Gaga (McKenzie Woodland, whose son didn't know who it was until someone told him). And thank you to Mr. Grinch for also entertaining the elementary students during their lunch. You all made it even more fun.

February may be a short month, but we have a long list of high school students who did outstanding work this month and were recognized by their teachers. Here are our February Students of the Month for the high school!

7th graders from Mrs. Lynch's PE classes enjoyed a day of bowling to wrap up our bowling unit. They had a lot of fun and were respectful and courteous everywhere we went. What a great group to represent Three Forks Middle School!

The Middle School Book Club students (and 3 former members) enjoyed pizza and participated in a mock trial based on the book we read. They learned about court proceedings through character role playing and did an awesome job!

Middle School & High School Music Concert
Concert included: middle school band, high school band, choir, and the new jazz band
Students sounded fantastic! Mr. Barrett is doing an incredible job building the music program.
