A reminder to 6-12 Three Forks Families:

We are pleased to offer students in grades 6-12 the opportunity to participate in the Rural Behavioral Health Institute (RBHI) Screener. RBHI presented information about this screener at the November 11th School Board meeting. This is a short, confidential questionnaire that helps us understand how our students are doing and whether there are ways we can better support you.

Screening Week: Week of December 1st
Seniors/8th Grade: Monday, December 1st
Juniors/7th Grade: Tuesday, December 2nd
Sophomores/6th Grade: Wednesday, December 3rd
Freshmen: Thursday, December 4th

All students 6-12 will participate unless a parent/guardian completes and return the Opt-Out Form by November 28th. Opt- outs may be submitted to the office or emailed to either school counselor.

If a student's screening results indicate a high level of risk, school counselors will contact families to offer support and resources.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out:

HS Principal Greg Heys: gheys@threeforks.k12.mt.s

MS Principal Lisa Malmquist: lmalmquist@threeforks.k12.mt.us

HS Counselor Miranda Koenes: mkoenes@threeforks.k12.mt.us

MS Counselor April Waltee: awaltee@threeforks.k12.mt.us

Taking a few minutes for this screener is one small step, but it can open the door to the help, tools, and connection you deserve. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health, and we are here to support you.

Hat Day Tomorrow – Thursday, 11/20

Tomorrow we’re coming together as a school community to support one of our staff members who experienced the loss of a spouse this week. Students and staff are invited to participate in Hat Day as a way to show care and solidarity.

To join in, please bring your donation to the elementary, middle, or high school office. You’ll receive your stamp there, which allows you to wear your hat for the day.

Wolves hats are highly encouraged as we gear up for the big game this weekend.

Forty four of our middle school students participated in the first of several industry-led Zoom calls this week. Amelia Doll, a Technical Writer and Product Safety Communications Specialist with the Bobcat Company (headquartered in North Dakota), took the time to discuss the winding routes our jobs take us on. She emphasized the importance of being flexible, open-minded, adaptable and willing too try hard things. Her message also encouraged the students to pay attention to detail, appreciate constructive feedback and to work hard.

The series, led by Mrs. Felz, is part of a Career Connections Project is aimed at introducing middle school students to a variety of unique career pathways in jobs that looked very differently, or didn't even exist, several years ago. The focus of this project falls within the food industry while students work together to publish a cookbook with guidance from industry professionals. Mrs. Oehmcke's students will assist in the layout, design and development of the book while all students are exposed to the opportunities in the multitude of professions it takes to pull something like this together.

If you'd like to contribute to Mrs. Felz's Donors Choose project that supports this cross-curricular lesson, it's very appreciated! The link can be found here: https://www.donorschoose.org/project/kids-can-cook-cookbook-project/9677754/

Our 7th Grade Tech students recently covered a unit in budgeting with Google Sheets. To wrap things up, the kids also learned how to correctly count back change. This lesson is covered in nearly every Middle and High School class Mrs. O teaches each year. The cash drawers with funny money were funded with grant dollars the Three Forks Education Foundation provided several years ago.

The results are in and the Marketing students can not thank you enough. Three Forks Schools contributed 2435.9 pounds of food and $239.00 (which Town Pump doubles!) to the shelves of the Headwaters Area Food Bank! Hauling the multitude of loads was made easier with the grant money received from the Allstate Foundation for the purchase of a heavy-duty green wagon and scale. Our community really stepped up, as 2025 proved to be our largest collection year yet!
